Abstract

The current knowledge on diffusion in high-entropy alloys is critically reviewed. Recent results on both, tracer and interdiffusion measurements in high entropy alloys are analyzed. The phenomenon of so-called “sluggish diffusion” in the multi-principal element alloys is shown to be ambiguous. Pseudo-binary and pseudo-ternary approaches to quantify diffusion in multi-component alloys are discussed in detail. Recent advances in the utilization of tracer/interdiffusion couple method are highlighted.
