Abstract

Two D-A-D architectured small molecules based on benzothiadiazole and thiophene have been synthesized by Stille reaction. The effects of substitution on the acceptor moiety have been illustrated from the optical, electrochemical and, density functionalized theory characterization. Photovoltaic devices with power conversion efficiencies 0.73 and 0.61 have been fabricated with TBT and TDFBT respectively in the active layer.
