Abstract

The banana lectin from Musa paradisiaca, MW 29.4 kDa, has been isolated, purified and crystallized. The trigonal crystals contain one dimeric molecule in the asymmetric unit. The structure has been solved using molecular replacement to a resolution of $3\AA.$ The structure of the subunit is similar to that of jacalin-like lectins.
