Title analogs I [R = NH3+, 3-H3N+C6H4CONH, H2N+:C(NH2)NHCH2CH2CONH] were prepd. An alternative route for the prepn. of analog I (R = OHCNH) is proposed for large scale synthesis. These new compds. are designed to see the effect of curvature of the ligand on both binding to DNA and bioactivity.
