Abstract

The challenges and failures in the drug discovery process in different stages not only delay the discovery but also increase the average expenses in this. Finding the suitable druggable target is not easy as on an average a drug may bind with at least nine protein targets. Technological developments lead to explosion of data and human intervention is not possible to analyse and choose the best. High speed computers along with fast analyses using Artificial intelligence and Machine learning are the only alternatives to overcome this complicated problem. This chapter mainly deals with the utilisation of machine learning models in drug design and development pipeline, especially in the identification of targets and evaluation. © 2023 by World Scientific Publishing Co.
