Abstract
A three-stage guidance law based on switched proportional navigation, is proposed, for engagement of a stationary target by an air-launched dual-seeker interceptor with seeker field-of-view constraints. Desired impact angle at the target is achieved by switching the navigation gain twice during the trajectory. The guidance parameters during the launch and mid-course phases are calculated based on the look angle to a pseudo-target in space above the actual target, defined by the desired impact angle and detection range of the terminal seeker. The navigation gain in each of the three stages, namely, launch, mid-course and terminal phases, are selected such that the interceptor is in a favourable condition before the start of the next phase. Numerical simulations are carried out for validating the guidance law.
