Abstract

The paper highlights the development of a multi-stress experimental arrangement for the analysis of silicone rubber based polymer insulators used in high voltage transmission, distribution and traction systems. Presently, various controllers and sensors are adopted to establish an automatic experimental set-up for simulating the necessary stresses. The facility is being developed for the first time as per the relevant standards using an HMI (human machine interface), the experimental facility is mainly built to be useful for research and testing activity on different types of components used in transmission and distribution systems.
