Abstract

Ceramic matrix mini-composites consisting of T300 3K Carbon fiber tow, Boron-Nitride interphase and Silicon Carbide matrix have been fabricated by Chemical Vapor Infiltration (CVI). Samples have been obtained at various stages of processing and subjected to uniaxial tensile tests. Variation in strength has been represented as a Weibull distribution and the calculated parameters indicate a moderate degree of variation in mini-composite strength. ©
