The man-made tragedy that took place in Bhopal on December 3, 1984, stands as one of the most catastrophic industrial disasters in modern history. Nearly four decades later, survivors of the tragedy continue to grapple with a multitude of challenges. The marginalisation of the victim community has only perpetuated ever since, by the persistent lack of adequate compensation and support. A multi method approach is required to comprehensively understand the multifaceted issues experienced by the victims. Through qualitative analysis and the utilisation of a specialised app framework, this study sheds light on their ongoing struggles and resilience, offering a platform for their narratives to be heard. While the app serves the entire community, it prioritises women as its focal group due to their shared responsibilities and the transformative impact they have had within the community. A significant number of community members are also afflicted with debilitating gynaecological, reproductive, and menstrual disorders. Heartbreakingly, they continue to give birth to children with congenital diseases, drawing attention to the intergenerational impact of the tragedy. The goal is to assess their well-being, providing valuable insights into their evolving needs and progress. By intertwining empowerment with technology, this research aims to elevate the voices of the victim community, ensuring that their journey towards justice and dignity remains visible and supported. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.
