Abstract

Neutron scattering has emerged as an indispensable tool, especially in the field of soft matter, to probe microstructure and chain dynamics in materials. With the incorporation of hard particles like carbon nanotubes into the system, the study of chain dynamics becomes even more interesting. Besides, in an application perspective, it is important to understand the dynamics in the presence of such particles, in order to correlate them with properties. This chapter is tailored methodically with fundamental theory and state-of-the-art literature to bridge the theory and practice. The first half of the chapter provides an essence of what is neutron scattering and its principles, and how is it different from X-ray scattering. The last half of the chapter builds up on the fundamentals with some exciting literature pertaining to CNT-polymer dispersions and composites. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2022.
