Abstract
Sound radiation from plates in baf.es, and shells is a well-studied subject. More recently, researchers are trying to optimize these structures for minimizing sound radiation [1]. A few typical parameters which are optimized include material tailoring [2], location and number of point masses attached to the structure [3], dynamic compliance [4], and damping layer placements [5]. These techniques include numerical methods such as BEM and FEM.
