Abstract
Fine-particle and single-phase microwave resonator materials such as lanthanide titanates, $Ln_2Ti_20_7$ (Ln = La, Nd and Sm), pyrochlore niobates, $M_2Nb_20_7$ (M = Ca and Sr) and perovskite niobates, $Ba(M_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3$ (M = Mg and Zn) have been prepared by a combustion method involving metal nitrates and tetraformal trisazine (TFTA) at 350 °C. Particulate properties such as density, surface area and particle size and bulk properties such as density, microstructure and dielectric characteristics have been investigated.
