Abstract

The current status of the rigidity percolation threshold in chalcogenide glasses has been discussed. The applicability and shortcomings of Phillips' atomic network model have been discussed and possible solutions are offered. Apart from evolutionary changes, this simple physical model has given a lot of insight on the composition dependence of structure of glasses, hitherto unknown
