Abstract
Fine particle perovskite oxides such as $LnCrO_3$ (where Ln = La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Dy, Gd, and Y), $La_{1-x}Sr_xMnO_3$ (x = 0.0 to 0.5), $LaCoO_3$, and $LaNiO_3$ have been prepared by the combustion of corresponding metal nitrate-tetraformal trisazine (TFTA) mixtures at 350°C/500°C in a few minutes under ambient conditions. The oxides are of submicrometer size with specific surface area ranging from 3-20 $m^2/g$. The oxides have been characterized further by TEM and SEM studies. Sintering of $LaCrO_3$ at 1500°C for 2 hr resulted in 85% $(5.2 g/cm^3)$ of the theoretical density.
