Abstract

We introduce a 3-parameter model to accurately capture the recently proposed, physically based, distribution function representation of pump absorption in rare-earth-doped double-clad fibers. This model allows for simple evaluation of wavelength resolved, length dependent absorption. © OSA 2014.
