Abstract

Maximum power point tracking in photovoltaic power generation system is performed using recently reported Plant Reproduction Algorithm (PRA). The first reported PRA is simplified and tailored towards MPPT in PV systems under partial shaded conditions (PSC). The modified algorithm is simple to understand and easy to implement and converges to global power peak quickly. The new algorithm is evaluated through extensive simulation study and results are presented. © 2020 IEEE.
