Abstract
MD simulations using the Lennard-Jones (LJ) potential have been employed in this present paper to investigate the effect of temperature on the mechanical properties and the matrix-reinforcement interaction of epoxy CNT nano-composite containing 66840 atoms. Two tests namely, tensile test at a strain rate of 1012 sec-1 and the pullout test has been performed along the z-direction at four different temperatures. The tensile test results show that the strength decreases with the increase in temperature. The operative mechanisms of deformation are investigated using the energy profiles and the Radial Distribution Function.
