Abstract
Reactions of $Ru_3(CO)_{12}$ with diphosphazane ligands bearing axially chiral moieties, $X_2PN(R)PY_2$ $[R = Me, X_2= Y_2= C_{20}H_{12}O_2$ or $C_{12}H_8O_2;$ $R = CHMe_2$, $X_2=C_{20}H_{12}O_2$, $Y = C_6H_5, OC_6H_4Me-4$, $OC_6H_4(OMe-4)$, $OC_6H_4Bu^t-4$ or $C_6H_5$; $R = CHMe_2, X_2 = C_{12}H_8O_2, Y = C_6H_5]$ in the presence of benzophenone ketyl radical give the ruthenium carbonyl clusters, $Ru_3(CO)_{10} \lbrace \mu-X_2PN(R)PY_2 \rbrace $. IR and NMR data for the complexes are reported. The structures of three complexes have been confirmed by single crystal X-ray crystallographic studies.
