Abstract
Real-time simulation of a power system helps in simulating the system behaviour with the occurrence of any abnormality in the real-time. This paper employs a miniature full-spectrum simulator (mini FSS) which is an educational real-time simulator meant for power electronics and power system applications. The mini FSS is developed under the National Mission on Power Electronics Technology (NaM PET) Phase II, funded by Govt. of India. This paper employs the mini FSS to simulate a power system network, and compares the results with the offline simulation for the purpose of validation. This paper uses two numerical methods, namely, Forward Euler and Improved Euler methods for the offline and real-time simulations. The `C' program used for real-time simulation is obtained through simple modifications of the same for real-time simulation.
