Abstract
In this paper, a composite control strategy for sensorless and low-noise operation of Switched Reluctance (SR) is proposed. In the proposed method dc bus voltage is varied as a function of speed and the motor is operated in single pulse mode for wide speed range. Such controller reduces the acoustic noise and improves the accuracy of estimation. The algorithm is tested on a 4-phase 8/6 pole, 4kW SR motor and the test results of acoustic noise, position estimation are presented.
