Abstract
development of a climate version of the National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRWF) model and its implementation on a message passing platform are discussed. The ability of the model to simulate the Indian Summer Monsoon is studied. It is found that the model realistically simulates most of the major features of the Indian Summer Monsoon. The intraseasonal variations of the Indian monsoon are also studied.
