Abstract

A Powell-type direct-reading thermal comparator was constructed for the detection of thermal conductivities of organic liquids and liquid mixtures and was calibrated against known thermal conductivities. Thermal conductivities of 28 pure organic liquids and of six binary mixtures of acetone were detected at room temperature and compared with the literature data. The agreement is satisfactory.
