Abstract

The negative result of S.N. Ekbote et al. (1980) with respect to observation of conduction ESR (CESR) in A-15 compounds of Nb in the superconducting state is discussed in terms of the effect of variation of the static magnetic field (H(x) over the thickness of the sample. Previous expectations of motional narrowing of the CESR signal are not realized and the replacement of H(x) by an av. value is not justified. The observation of CESR is thus very difficult, except close to the critcal temperature Tc where H(x) is small; close to Tc the smallness of the critical field may make the resonance expected impossible.
