Abstract

$C_{15}H_{14}O_2$, $M_r$ = 226.27, monoclinic, $P2_1/n$, a = 7.7505 (9), b = 16.484 (2), c = 8.7383 (9)$\AA$, $\beta$ = 101.16 (1)°, V= 1095.2 (2)${\AA}^3$, Z = 4, $D_x = 1.372 g cm^{-3}$, $\lambda$(Mo K$\alpha$) = 0.7107$\AA$, $\mu = 0.84 cm^{-1}$, F(000) = 480, T = 295 K, $R(F_o)$ = 0.041, wR = 0.049 for 1205 observed reflections with$\mid Fo\mid \geq 5.0(F_o)$. The five-membered ring has an envelope conformation, while the two six-membered rings are in twist form. In the unit cell, the molecules are stabilized purely by van der Waals forces.
