Abstract
Many interesting developments have taken place in the area of quasicrystals after the discovery of the icosahedral phase in an Al-Mn alloy by Shechtman, et al. Some of them are the discovery of a two-dimensional decagonal quasicrystal, an octagonal quasicrystal, a dodecagonal quasicrystal, a pentagonal quasicrystal, a cubic quasicrystal and a hexagonal quasicrystal. Developments in the field of quasicrystals have been reviewed by Ranganathan and Chattopadhyay.
