Abstract
We report that aniline could be intercalated into the layered perovskites, $HCa_2Nb_3O_{10}$ and $HCa_2Nb_2MO_9$ (M = A1, Fe), and subsequently polymerized by treatment with $(NH_4)_2S_20_8$, to give novel PANI-layered perovskite composites (PANI = polyaniline). Characterization of these organic/inorganic composites by various physical methods shows that the polymer exists within the galleries of the host in the emeraldine salt form with considerable cross-linking.
