Abstract

The temperature dependence of electrical conductivity of ON state of the charge transfer complex methyltriphenylar-sonium-$(TCNQ)_2$ shows the characteristics of an amorphous material in the temperature range of 10 K to 236 K. The low resistance $(\sim 1 \Omega)$ of ON state of the sample is due to the field induced structural phase transition from high resistance $(\sim 10^3 \Omega)$ OFF state at a field of $\sim2.5x10^5$ V/m under pressure at a temperature of 300 K. In the hopping regime of the ON state both negative and positive magnetoresistance is observed at temperatures of 11 and 32 K.
