Engineering education is intimately related both as cause and effect, to many forces in society. Technology, especially all areas related to and dependent on electronics, is changing at a tremendous pace. The present curriculum for under-graduate programmes in electrical and electronic engineering, though undergoing incremental changes, is built upon a framework chosen more than three decades ago. In this paper a new framework for the design of curriculum for under-graduate programmes in these areas is presented.
