Abstract
It has been found that both Y-Ba-Cu-0 and Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-0 films get poisoned /1 to 31 when prepared on alumina substrates. The authors have reported in an earlier communication / 4 / that a silver buffer layer prevents the poisoning of Y-Ba-Cu-0 superconducting films prepared on alumina substrates. Now, in this note the preparation of Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-0 superconducting thick films on alumina substrates with silver buffer layer by the screen printing technique is reported. This attempt has beep made since the film can be processed in a period of 5 to 6 h, which is considerably less than the duration required for processing pellets.
