Abstract
In the present work, a co-precipitation method was employed to obtain zinc oxide (ZnO) nanorods. Prepared nanorods were characterized using various characterization techniques. X-ray diffractometry (XRD) study showed the formation of a wurtize hexagonal structure. The Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) technique was used for the various functional groups identification and their chemical bonding and these functional groups are responsible for the formation of ZnO nanorods. UV emission peak was observed at 220 nm. High-resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM) images revealed the formation of ZnO nanorods of uniform length and width. The elemental composition of the prepared sample was identified by EDS analysis. © Electro Chemical Society of India 2024.
