Abstract

This paper studies the problem of determining barrier coverage in camera sensor networks in the presence of occluding objects in the environment. A coverage model is proposed that introduces a novel sector division approach, which utilizes the intersection between occluders and sensor regions. Further, the existing graph-based method is modified to determine the barrier coverage of a sensor network in the presence of occluders. The link between the barrier coverage solution and the graph's connectivity is established, and the effectiveness of the approach is verified through simulations. © 2023 IEEE.
