Abstract

In this work, we report the synthesis of high-quality Zn-rich Cd1-xZnxSe/ZnSe Quantum dots (QD). Transient absorption spectroscopy proved these QDs to be effective gain media. The use of an external probe also yields amplified spontaneous emission observations. Thus, demonstrating that it is a useful gain medium, and in cavity configuration lasing can be accomplished.
