Abstract

Lanthanum manganite-lanthanum cobaltite solid solutions ($LaMn_{1-x}Co_xO_3$) have been investigated as probable candidates of cathode material for solid oxide fuel cells. A single step solution combustion process has been used for the preparation of $LaMn_{1-x}Co_xO_3$ solid solutions using corresponding metal nitrates and tetraformal trisazine (TFTA). Formation and homogeneity of the solid solutions have been confirmed by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) and energy-dispersive X-ray analysis (EDAX). Sintering, linear thermal expansion and direct current electrical conductivity measurements of $LaMn_{1-x}Co_xO_3$ have been carried out.
