Abstract
In this chapter, we collect all the basic theory needed for advancement of the theory developed in rest of the chapters. All the basic definitions and elementary properties are included and basic theory of Induced Spaces, Function Spaces, and Enveloping Semigroups is discussed. Most of our examples are shift spaces.
