Abstract
This paper presents an analysis effort on a dual-PSFB converter in IPOP configuration, examining its functional and behavioural aspects under nonideal conditions in the form of parametric asymmetries, viz., duty-ratio, transformer turns-ratio, filter and leakage inductances. The transition mechanism of individual modules into CCM and/or DCM modes as well as their power sharing characteristics amidst module asymmetry are investigated by leveraging per-unitized analytical expressions. The impact of multiple simultaneous asymmetries in the converter under open- and closed-loop settings are examined. Collectively, these analytical examinations not only uncover the parametric sensitivity on performance of the converter modules but also offer a theoretical basis to dual-PSFB operation under practical conditions. The converter analysis and expressions are validated through simulations as well as experimental verification on a laboratory dual-PSFB hardware. © 2022 IEEE.
