Abstract

Cuprate superconductors derived from $TlSr_2CuO_5$ and $TlSr_3Cu_2O_7$ possess unusually small concentrations of chemically titratable holes (<0.1) as compared with other cuprate superconductors with the same number of $CuO_2$ sheets. The result suggests the presence of a band overlap contributing to a hole concentration in these materials.
