Abstract

We have designed a Silicon on Insulator(SOI) based broadband grating coupler using Inverse Design approach. Using this method, we have achieved maximum coupling efficiency of 67-84 with 3db bandwidth of 75nm-115nm, depending on the partial etch depth.
