Abstract

Layered double hydroxides of Mg with Cr having the general formula $Mg_{1-x}Cr_x(OH)_2$ $(CO_3)_{x/2}\hspace{2mm}yH_2O$ (x 5 0.15– 0.33) crystallize in a hexagonal structure on hydrothermal treatment. These LDHs incorporate oxalate and ferricyanide ions in their interlamellar regions to yield turbostratically disordered phases.
