Abstract
Shock-vortex interactions as well as shock-boundary layer interaction can occur during transonic flow over a delta wing. Here we study these interactions in the context of transonic buffet over the VFE-2 wing with medium radius leading edge. Numerical results are first validated with wind tunnel results. The influence angle of attack on transonic shock vortex interactions and vortex breakdown in terms of shock structure, vorticity, and streamlines is discussed.
