Abstract

We report a novel optical pulse shaping technique for generating a reverse sawtooth pulse from an optical gaussian pulse using a linearly chirped fiber Bragg grating. We have carried out simulations with gaussian pulses of order 2, 4 and 8 and the results show that asymmetry of the reflected pulse increases with the order of input gaussian pulse.
