Abstract

Stability analysis of a system includes calculation of the eigenvalues of the matrix containing the physics of the governing differential equation. If a differential equation has constant coefficients, eigenvalues can be calculated analytically. In rotor problem, we get a differential equation, which has periodic coefficients, and a numerical solution is possible. Here, Floquet theory is used to find out the eigenvalues of a periodic system. © 2018, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
