Abstract
A novel sensor system, anuPathTM, is presented for point of care diagnostics. The clearly defined system design objectives guide the design philosophy through the development of novel receptors for non-enzymatic and non-antibody based sensing chemistries, a future proof generic and expandable electronic read out platform to probe different electrochemical cells with varying requirements of redox potentials and currents, development of system packaging and graphic user interface for enabling multiple blood (Hb, HbAlc, HSA, glycated albumin and glucose) and urine (microalbuminuria, creatinine, ACR) tests. The clinically validated lab on palm system, currently in field use as a successful product for the management of diabetes and its complications, demonstrates successful translation from lab to land, enabled through multiple innovations.
