Abstract
The January 26, 2001, Mw 7.7 earthquake located near Bachau, in the state of Gujarat in western India, referred to as the Bhuj earthquake, after the major city in the region, is the largest to have occurred in the Kachchh region since the 1819 earthquake (Fig. 4.1).
