Abstract
SrTiO3 composites were synthesized by regular and solid state combustion methods. The effect of fuels was studied in the synthesis, as it plays role in controlling morphology and structural properties in the combustion synthesis. The composites of SrTiO3 synthesized by regular combustion synthesis with ascorbic acid as fuel showed excellent adsorption capacity of 2681 ± 98 mg/g for acid blue 93 dye. The kinetics of adsorption followed pseudo second order indicating faster kinetics. The adsorption mechanism was studied to explain the high adsorption capacities of SrTiO3 composites with the help of mass transfer models and thermodynamic studies of adsorption.
