Abstract

Low birefringence dual-mode rib waveguides supporting two quasi TE and quasi TM modes are designed on thin film lithium niobate. Anisotropy of lithium niobate is engineered to achieve a low birefringence of 0.002 for both fundamental mode pair and the first order mode pair simultaneously. © 2021 IEEE.
