Abstract
The fabrication of a novel electrochemical sensor based on sodium alpha-olefin sulfonate (SAOS) for determining the traces of adrenaline (ADN) and paracetamol (PA) in real-time monitoring of aqueous solutions is described. The electrochemical catalytic behavior of sensor was investigated using differential pulse voltammetry and cyclic voltammetry analytical methods. The selective and novel modified sensor was fabricated using surfactant sodium alpha-olefin sulfonate. Surface characterization of the bare and modified electrode was done by using FESEM. Different operating conditions such as impact of concentration, change in pH, and sweep rate were examined using modified carbon paste electrode. The electrode process was adsorption-controlled and lower detection limits of ADN and PA were found to be 0.14 and 0.32 µM, respectively. In addition, the molecular interaction of SAOS with ADN and PA was studied using conceptual density functional theory analysis and the developed sensor also proved its practical efficiency during real-world sample analysis. Hence, the tailored sensor displayed a fine electrochemical response for the analysis of ADN and PA.
