Abstract

Polarization independent grating can find potential application in beam steering. We have designed one-dimensional silicon nitride gratings on silica substrate by optimizing the opto-geometrical design parameters for polarization independence using genetic algorithm. For 1 diffraction order the grating shows above 94 efficiency irrespective of the polarization at 1550 nm wavelength. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
