Vijayakumar, K and Ramaiah, GK (2021) Homogeneous Anisotropic Plates. [Book Chapter]
Full text not available from this repository.Abstract
Anisotropy of materials is sometimes called aeolotropy in old textbooks, for example, A. E. H. Loves Classical book, A Treatise on the Mathematical Theory of Elasticity (Dover, New York, 1944). The application of Poisson theory in the previous two chapters is extended for the analysis of homogeneous anisotropic plates with monoclinic symmetry. It is a prelude to the analysis of laminated plates in the next three chapters. Due to the anisotropy of material, it is more convenient here to consider displacements as basic variables. In view of the presence of normal stress z in the semi-inverted strain-stress relations and equilibrium equations, transverse shear strains are separated from the group of remaining strains as in the previous chapters. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
