Abstract

We report on the development of combined ultrasound and photoacoustic imaging system using Lead Zirconate Titanate (PZT) based flexible bulk transducer arrays. The transducer was made with a new and simple technique and electronically interfaced with a research ultrasound system to obtain ultrasound image of custom targets. We also report for the first time, A-line photoacoustic signal from the flexible transducer array thereby laying the foundation of body conformal ultrasound co-registered photoacoustic imaging system. © 2020 IEEE.
