Combination of different nanomaterials offers excellent approach towards harnessing their individual properties. Both Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) and Titanium dioxide (TiO2) exhibits exotic electronic and optical properties. In this work the effect of thermal annealing on the modification of optoelectronic properties in MoS2/TiO2nanocomposites has been studied. MoS2/TiO2 was prepared by sol-gel method and then annealed at different temperature. Samples were later characterized by x-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectroscopy. The results indicate the enlargement of crystallite size with increasing temperature and development of strain subsequently. The quantum mechanical discussion distinguishes the contribution of particle size and strain on the vibrational spectra. © 2020 American Institute of Physics Inc.. All rights reserved.
